When the idealistic, city-bred Whitings retreat to the woods of Maine for a summer adventure designed to repair their troubled family, they discover that what's buried in soggy ground will always rise to the surface again. A provocative, bittersweet family drama, The Summer We Drowned has been selected for all of Film Independent’s talent development labs – Screenwriters, Directors and Producers – as well as the Los Angeles Film Festival’s Fast Track financing forum and the Sundance Institute’s Independent Producers Conference. Through these programs, the project was mentored by Rodrigo Garcia, Andrew Wright, Peggy Rajski and Jeff Kleeman, and is now in development with Steakhaus Productions.
